Megan of 43 Trees

Megan, Witness to "Plays in the Park"
June 15, 1964
Megan arrived in the summer of 1964, just in time to witness many of the year’s “Plays in the Park” productions. Each summer she looked forward with great anticipation to the park’s productions. Some of her favorites were “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” “The Music Man,” and “Oklahoma.”

She considered herself lucky to live close enough to hear not only the music but the crowd’s appreciative reactions. Beach chairs, blankets, cheese, crackers and bottles of wine were shared by visitors who attended the plays in her park. Although many folks enjoy these plays year after year, Megan’s enjoyment went far beyond; she would hum the tunes during many evening performances while her branches swayed rhythmically to the orchestra strains of familiar favorites.
