The 43 Trees Project

Roosevelt Park is 217 acre park located in the Menlo Park section of Edison Township New Jersey and is operated by County of Middlesex. The park's facilities include picnic groves, walking and biking paths, a veterans Memorial, an eight acre lake and is home of the critically acclaimed Plays-In-The-Park, a unique government-sponsored summer outdoor theater.

One of the more interesting stops in Roosevelt Park is the fountain "Light Dispellling Darkness." This sculpture was part of a New Jersey Fedral Arts Project under the Works Progress Administration(WPA) and honors Thomas Edison who "dispelled darkness" with the invention of the electric light. "Light Dispelling Darkness" and Plays -In-The-Park can easily be found at the Grandview Avenue West entrance just off of Route 1.
